Onboard Scales have been fitted to four liquid collection tankers in Victoria to eliminate accidental vehicle overloading. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Springvale branch in Melbourne, the Onboard Scales were required due to the unknown Specific Gravity of the liquids being collected.
Onboard Scales can also assist with increasing collections efficiency by ensuring each vehicle can be optimally loaded before returning to the depot for emptying. If nearing capacity, the truck may be able to be diverted from a large pickup to a known smaller pickup rather than return with unused capacity.
Accuweigh’s TruckWeigh 2 Onboard Scales provide a very cost effective means of identifying the weight of vehicles. Comprising sensitive and extremely durable sensors fitted to each suspension unit and a digital weight indicator mounted into the truck’s dash, the Onboard Scales can display both the vehicle’s net and gross weight readings to the driver.
Automatic warning alarms (both visual and audible) can be configured to warn the driver when the vehicle is nearing its weight carrying capacity and the actual vehicle weight is also displayed by the Onboard Scales to allow the driver to make judgement calls on further collections.
Accuweigh has extensive industry experience with Onboard Scales and has fully trained and experienced personnel stationed in either branches across Australia to assist with all Onboard Weighing applications.
