A second set of Truck Scales was recently commissioned for the Port Stephens Council in New South Wales.Supplied by Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch, the Truck Scale was installed at the council’s Salamander Bay waste station.
With a concrete weighing deck measuring eighteen metres long, the Truck Scales uses an above ground design with concrete ramps providing easy truck access. Manufactured in Australia, all steel work of Accuweigh’s Truck Scales is hot dip galvanised to provide superior corrosion resistance over cheaper imported units with a painted finish.
These Truck Scales were positioned next to the existing scale at the entrance to the waste facility to provide dedicated entry and exit lanes to eliminate truck waiting time as regularly experienced previously during busy periods. The second Truck Scale allows all vehicles to be weighed both in and out of the facility to provide very accurate weight readings of waste delivered by each vehicle as required by DERM.
