The Accuweigh/Salter branch in Melbourne recently supplied 20 weigh beams to an aluminium processing plant in Qatar. To cope with the high temperatures of the freshly cast anodes, the Salter weigh beams were manufactured using high temperature load cells capable of withstanding 100ºC temperatures.
The weigh beams are suspended from an overhead rail conveyor carrying blocks of Aluminium Anodes which are automatically stoped at the weighing points where the beam scales are located to confirm correct weights of the anodes.
Each of the 1200mm long weigh beams is fitted with 2t capacity load cells at each end of the weigh beam and then connected to a Rinstrum 1203 digital weight transmitter outputting a 4-20mA weight signal to a PLC.
