Onboard Weighing Systems have been fitted to three hook trucks for Newcastle City Council. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Beresfield branch in NSW, the Onboard Weighing Systems are used to accurately weight the different classes of waste to allow the council to conform to EPA requirements.
Waste material received from waste transfer facilities is sorted into nominated
skip bins (solid waste, inert and general waste, concrete and green waste).
When full, these bins are picked up by hook trucks fitted with Accuweigh’s Onboard
Weighing Systems which records and stores the weight of the waste material in the
bin before being emptied at the nominated landfill cell.
The Onboard Weighing Systems are able to provide fast and accurate weight
readings without the need for the truck to proceed to a weighbridge to obtain bin
weight readings. Comprising six heavy duty load cells mounted between the truck
chassis and the bin skid plates, Accuweigh’s Onboard Weighing Systems use a
digital weight indicator mounted in the truck’s cab to display the skip weights
to the driver.
At the end of the day, the stored data from the Onboard Weighing Systems is
downloaded into a spread sheet for waste volumes to be calculated on each
product cell for EPA requirements. This allows N.C.C. to more accurately
forecast the current capacity each cell, the soil cover requirements, the
compaction ratio and also the residual air space of each cell.
Accuweigh’s Onboard Weighing Systems provide an economical means of attaining
accurate weighings to assist the N.C.C. to better manage their landfill
operation.
Accuweigh’s product diversity is exceptional and
covers Weighing, Packaging, Food Inspection, Filling/Palletising/Wrapping,
Onboard Vehicle Weighing and Truck Wheel Wash Systems – all fully backed by
highly trained and experienced staff in eight branches across mainland states.
