Industrial Scales are currently being installed at the Brisbane City Council’s Pinkenba Waste Treatment Plant for weighing the sludge by-product produced during the waste treatment process.
The Industrial Scales are fitted to a large weigh hopper of 120 tonnes capacity to accurately display the volume of sludge being stored. When the Industrial Scales are nearing full capacity, an SMS text message is transmitted to the waste removal contractor requesting a tanker to be dispatched to empty the sludge from the hopper.
These Industrial Scales greatly improves the efficiency and cost effectiveness of sludge removal by ensuring collection trucks only visits the site when the weight hopper requires emptying. A digital weight indicator is mounted externally on the Industrial Scales to allow the tanker driver to see the weight of sludge loaded into the tanker to eliminate accidental truck overloading.
