A fully digital weighbridge was recently supplied for weighing trucks entering and leaving a waste recycling facility in Brisbane’s south by Accuweigh’s QWM branch.
Using the latest digital weighing components, the digital weighbridge has a concrete deck measuring twenty metres long by three metres wide. Six digital load cells with integrated Sigma-Delta Analog to Digital Converters are used to generate the weight readings which are then transmitted to a dedicated digital weight indicator to sum the individual weight readings.
Each brand of digital weighing system uses their own propriety data signals between the digital load cells and the summing indicator that usually prohibits the use of alternate brand hardware to replace individual weighing components. It is therefore critically important that the future needs of the weighing application are fully investigated before a digital weighing system is purchased to ensure it can better cater for future expansion needs.
Accuweigh supplies weighbridges fitted with both digital and analog weighing components to enable the client to purchase the ideal weighbridge solution that suits their individual weighing application.
Benefits of fully digital weighbridge systems include:
- Corner adjustments are less time consuming during initial weighbridge testing
- Calibrations are slightly more accurate
- Improved fault finding capabilities with displayed error codes listing problems
This weighbridge was fully manufactured by QWM at their dedicated weighbridge manufacturing facility in Brisbane’s northern suburb of Geebung. All steel used in QWM weighbridges is fully hot dip galvanised for strong corrosion resistance and significantly longer life expectancy when compared to cheaper opposition products using a painted finish.
Accuweigh/QWM is Australia’s largest supplier of weighbridge and has the capabilities to supply both analog and digital weighbridge systems for all heavy duty weighing applications, including weighbridges, silo and tank weighing systems.
