Axle Weigh Pads are being used by Queensland’s Gold Coast City Council to ensure vehicles comply with legal axle weight limits to avoid overloading fines.

Accuweigh’s Brisbane branch supplied six axle weigh pads to the Helensvale Transfer station for checking axle weights of loaded vehicles. Large skip bins filled with compacted waste are loaded onto semi-trailers for transfer to the council’s landfill site for disposal.

The rear tri-axles of each trailer are then weighed using the axle weigh pads which displays each individual wheel loading and also provides the summed total of all wheels. Axle weigh pads are a very cost effective means of ensuring vehicle axle loadings comply with legal weight limits. Under the Chain of Responsibility legislation, each and every person and company even remotely involved in the loading and transportation process can be held partly responsible and incur heavy fines.

Accuweigh’s recently released Road Guardian axle weigh pads utilises advanced weighing technology for improved truck wheel weighing accuracy. The self-contained weigh pads feature a low height profile of only 32mm to allow for easy truck access while minimising potential weighing errors caused by out of level wheels.

Manufactured from aluminium for strength and corrosion resistance, each axle weigh pad weighs only fifteen kilograms to allow them to be easily manoeuvred into position with minimal effort. Each axle weigh pad is fitted with its own integrated weighing indicator that is fully integrated into the carry handle and is powered by six AA-size batteries located in the display housing for full portability.

Accuweigh has extensive experience with all forms on vehicle weighing; inncluding static, in-motion and onboard. With eight branches across mainland states, no other company better caters for the needs of Australia's Transport Industry.
