An automatic Weighbridge Terminal reduces weighbridge operating costs by eliminating the need for a weighbridge operator to perform weighing and data entry duties. Automatic Weighbridge Terminals allow truck drivers to easily enter the required data by simply following a series of prompts containing relevant selections on a colour touch screen PC.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane, the automatic Weighbridge Terminal was supplied to a sand quarrying operation in Jacobs Wells, South of Brisbane. To minimise driver data entry requirements, a Dallas Tag Reader was fitted to the Weighbridge Terminal to allow truck and driver details to be automatically identified.
To comply with trade regulations for Automatic Weighbridges, sensors are fitted to the main beams of the weighbridge to ensure correct vehicle positioning before the vehicles weight is recorded. A weight ticket is automatically issued by the Weighbridge Terminal after the weighing transaction is completed with a single set of traffic lights with lamps directed at both incoming and outgoing trucks regulate traffic flow over the weighbridge.
Accuweigh’s Automatic Weighbridge Terminal is based on a ROC (Rugged Operations Computer) that is fully sealed to eliminate ingress of dust and water in industrial applications. The ROC’s highly efficient design and the use of a thick alloy housing acting as a heat sink totally eliminates the need for external cooling by air vents and/or fans.
The Automatic Weighbridge Terminal was manufactured by AASoftware – Accuweigh’s own Weighbridge Software division. Commissioning was done during the installation of a QWM manufactured 20 metre long weighbridge with a weighing capacity of 70 tonnes for weighing all trucks entering and leaving the quarry.
